Karel Soucek was a Canadian stuntman whose claim to fame was going over Niagara Falls in a barrel on July 2, 1984. He then appeared on Dave two months later to talk about the experience and then have Dave recreate the fall by going down an audience aisle in his own barrel.

Four months later, on January 19, 1985, Soucek attempted another barrel drop, this time from the top of the Houston Astrodome. He was killed, and so consequently this show never aired again.

1. Dave discusses his barrel fall on Willie Geist's May 19, 2019 podcast.
2. Soucek's appearance and Dave's barrel roll on September 20, 1984. Note the then-new Catch Phrase inscribed on the barrel.
